My husband and I happen to LOVE mead. We went to this winery as they specialize in meads and have wine tasting.
The owners of the establishment, Jon & Kim Hamilton, were very accommodating, friendly, and provided excellent information

and service. 
"White Winter Winery has been creating hand crafted meads for over twenty years here in Iron River, Bayfield County, Wisconsin is famous for its fruits that thrive on the unique climate created by Lake Superior. We even have an Apple Festival to celebrate the end of our growing season.  Locally grown blueberries, cherries, strawberries, blackberries, pears and, of course, many varieties of apples are what make our meads so special."
 

We bought a case of various meads almost a year ago, and we just had their holiday mead which was delicious! We do not drink them up fast...for special occasions, and if you didn't know, mead is higher in alcohol than our basic wine, and all of them are made with honey.
They also use local fruits.

Give them a visit and taste some of the best. If you have never had it and like wine - especially sweet wine, you will love this.
